Below are the common workshops that we offer, dates and schedules will vary. Check our class schedule availability and if you are interested in a session that is not on the list please let us know.
Street Smarts-
A class that will meet once a week for 4 weeks. Each week will be in a new location to give the handlers & dogs a chance to gain skill and confidence working in public. Dogs (and handlers) perform well and get very relaxed in the classroom but our goal for training is to be comfortable taking our dogs with us to new places and this class will help.
**Prerequisite: The minimum for the Street Smarts session is having completed the Beginning I or Puppy II class. The dogs should have a good understanding of all of the basic cues before we add real world distractions.
Reliable Recall -
Recalls are a critical behavior that can literally save your dogs life. During this 4 week class the focus will be on increasing reliability and confidence with the recall. We will build on the foundation you’ve started and add lots of fun, challenging distractions.
**Prerequisite: The minimum for the Reliable Recall session is having completed the Beginning I or Puppy II class.
Baby Smarts - What about Rover?
As you prepare for the arrival of your new baby it is important to remember the canine member of your family. Bringing a baby into the home with a dog can create stress and challenges for everyone. Even the most social and happy dog can be surprised by the arrival of a squealing little bundle. All of the smells, sights and sounds can cause them to become excited or nervous. With proper planning and a little guidance you can set clear expectations and make the transition for your dog much easier which will be stressful for everyone.
We have put together a three hour lecture course to give you the tools to prepare your dog for the baby. This course takes place in two 1 1/2 hour sessions and will be personalized to your family.
**Prerequisite: None - this is a lecture only session with ‘homework’, dogs do not attend.
